So, as we are all aware "non-essential" businesses are being told to close their doors from Thursday 5th November until the 2nd December, just as they would be preparing for their busiest time of year.
This means a lot of our lovely independent shops, restaurants and business in the town have to close their doors or change the way they operate in the already stressful build up to Christmas.
The term "non-essential" doesn’t sit well with us here at Leigh-on-Sea Town Council. It is essential to the person who depends on that business to feed their family and pay their bills, it is essential to the shopper in need of something and it is essential to our town. Those independent shops are part of the Leigh-on-Sea community and help make our town what it is. So, to all our non-essential traders (but essential to us) we have decided to devote our Instagram page to you!
Head over to instagram (instagram.com/leightowncouncilevents) give us a follow and you'll be able to see some of the amazing products, deals and services that our wonderful local traders have on offer.
If you do buy anything from our local traders, please remember to share on your social media platforms and let your friends and families know about it too!
Use the hashtag #essentialleigh to advertise your goods and services on offer and we will SHARE, SHARE, SHARE! You can also use @leightowncouncilevents and we will also be checking other popular hashtags to make sure we don't miss anything!
These other hashtags are also great to use
Never fear, you won't be missing out. We will also be adding details of what shops are still operating with click and collect or deliveries to this page.
