Leigh-on-Sea Town Council are pleased to announce their new councillor for the St. Clements Ward, Councillor Emma Mills, who was co-opted on to the Council in a recent meeting.
Emma grew up in Leigh and trained as an artist and teacher, undertaking a master’s degree in Art Psychotherapy. She has also taken part in the Leigh Art Trail since 2009.
“I am honoured to work on behalf of the people of my hometown and St Clements Ward. I am passionate about families and young people especially around the areas of mental health and education. My extended family live in Leigh-on-sea and my children attended local schools and I feel excited about supporting my local community.”
There are currently two further vacancies on the Council in the Highlands and Elms Ward. The Highlands vacancy will be filled by co-option, if you are interested in applying contact the Town Clerk at firstname.lastname@example.org before 25th April.
The vacancy in the Elms Ward will be filled by a by-election on the 6th May.
