Leigh-on-Sea Town Council was pleased to welcome new councillor James Preston on Thursday 6th May.
Cllr Preston stood unopposed in the recent council elections for Elms Ward; filling the vacancy made by the late Cllr Caroline Parker who passed last year.
Cllr Preston states, “I have lived in Leigh all my life and am passionate that our town retains its individuality and community spirit for future generations.
I wish to engage with my peers in striving to do what is best for the community and not giving up on the challenge to improve the space that we are all lucky to enjoy.”
There is currently a further vacancy on the Council in the Highlands Ward, which is due to be filled by co-option. If you are interested in applying contact the Town Clerk at email@example.com before 28th June.
