Profile

My family and I have lived and worked in Leigh for 32 years. We have brought up our 4 children here, who have all attended local schools. We all love the town, its heritage and its people. 

As a Community Dentist working for Southend PCT, I provided care for many of the disadvantaged groups in our community. To serve as a Councillor is a great privilege and I will do my utmost to represent the views, thoughts and concerns of all the constituents of Herschell Ward, and the wider community, to the best of my ability. This will be all inclusive but will particularly include the interests of those whose voices may sometimes not be heard, the elderly living alone, the socially disadvantaged, people with special needs and learning disabilities, those with mental health problems and all their carers. I will canvass their views and represent these to the Council with the intention of improving the quality of their lives and those of their friends and families living in Leigh.

In addition, I want be to meet as many of my constituents as possible, listen to your thoughts and concerns and assure you that I will do my utmost to help solve any issues you raise. Leigh Town Council has always had the best interest of all its residents at the heart of everything  it does and I would like to play my part in continuing to ensure that the services and facilities it provides are high quality and continue to satisfy  local needs.

Finally, I firmly believe that the Community spirit in Leigh-on-Sea is alive and well as has been demonstrated in these times of hardship caused by Covid-19. The subsequent outpouring of neighbourly help I have witnessed is something the Council will be proud to foster.
